Featured Projects
Interstate 69 – Evansville to Indianapolis
The I-69 project represents one of the most ambitious highway expansions in U.S. history. First envisioned in the 1970s and later selected as one of six “Corridors of the Future”, the new interstate provides a critical north-south connection from Mexico to Canada.
Homer Tree Service is honored to have contributed to this monumental project, clearing over 1,950 acres across more than 100 miles of terrain for multiple contractors and construction phases.
Our work included:
- Clearing in challenging terrain of hills, ravines, and waterways
- Operating under Rule 5 and Section 404 permit compliance
- Following strict wildlife protections for the Indiana Bat, Northern Long-Eared Bat, and Bald Eagle
- Meeting demanding timelines while maintaining uncompromising safety standards
Through mud, rock, steep grades, and seasonal extremes, our crews played a vital role in bringing this major transportation corridor to life to make the “New National Highway System” a reality.
Fort McCoy Total Force Training Center – Wisconsin
In 2014, Homer Tree Service was proud to support the U.S. Army by performing vegetation removal and site preparation across the 60,000-acre Fort McCoy Training Center.
We utilized our expertly maintained fleet of land clearing and restoration equipment to transform approximately 800 acres of land.
Our work included:
- Brush and vegetation removal
- Large-scale clearing
- Seeding, fertilizing, liming, and grading
- Dividing work into 20 project locations across 60,000 acres
Despite challenging terrain and environmental restrictions, the project was completed in under three months, on time, under budget, and with the highest safety standards.
This project expanded the Army’s foot and vehicle maneuvering and training capabilities by opening up areas and stressing training lands to provide realistic combat conditions, work we are honored to have supported.
West Branch DuPage River Wetland Mitigation – Bartlett, IL
Working under the direction of V3 Companies of Illinois, Homer Tree Service contributed to a multiyear, 350-acre environmental restoration effort along one mile of the West Branch of the DuPage River in Bartlett, IL.
Our work included:
- 205 acres of field brushing
- 20 acres of selective floodplain forest clearing
- 83 acres of degraded woodland clearing
- 47 acres of clearing for grading operations
These efforts improved wildlife habitat, restored natural hydrology, and provided long-term stormwater management benefits for nearby residents.
